Did you know, the Old Testament Kings were commanded to copy the Torah scrolls? No scribes allowed, the King was to copy the Torah in his own hand.  In writing a scroll of these laws by his own hand, the king is given a solemn reminder of Whom he serves and how he should live.  He should live in the pattern of the life of Messiah. How important is it for us to copy God’s Word?

When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the Levitical priests. Deut 17:18

Charlotte Mason said, “Now our objective in this most important part of education is to give the children the knowledge of God.” TREAT YOUR CHILD LIKE A KING: require copying God’s Word! Kill two proverbial birds with one stone by having your children practice handwriting with these FREE printable Bible verses in manuscript, cursive, or D’Nealian.

Below are links to the printable the pages I made for my boys from NIV. We were memorizing KJV but our church uses NIV and I found the modern language easier for the boys to understand and remember.

About Robin Sampson

  1. Would love to see scripture in KJV.

  2. Marcia

I agree with Leesa. Wish you had KJV copywork It is very hard to find KJV ones. 🙁

  3. Looking for cursive printables with scripture, but these are all coming up blank when I press on them…

  4. They are PDF files. They work.

  5. Tricia

To the mothers requesting KJV copywork:
Yeah I would love to see Bible verses written in the old english language that we don’t use anymore too.
I try my hardest to make understanding God’s Word difficult for my children. (sarcasm here)
You may personally PREFER the KJV– but it is by no means an easily understandable translation for children.
If, however, you want verses in the KJV because it is your BELIEF that the KJV is the ONLY word of God–than you are either ignorantly or arrogantly deceived. There are no arguments that prove that belief. In addition to not having any basis to believe that way : 2 Tim 2:14 commands by GOD (any translation you choose- and they ALL are TRANSLATIONS) not to have arguments over mere words. Also, 1 Tim 6:3-6 warns that the proud who know nothing are obsessed with disputes and arguments over words. KJV ONLY arguments are just that. Arguments over words. Not one of you requested it in KJV 1611 ?? NO. Because you don’t read that- you read a TRANSLATION.
Have a little common sense- and do what ‘s right by your children. There are many reputable translations that are written in plain english. 1 Cor 14: 19… Paul says that through understanding we learn and may teach others. Anyone who holds to the KJV as the ONLY word of God- has made an idol in their hearts….a stumblingblock to themselves and others they negatively influence.

  6. Leesa C

I thought your reply held a great deal of contempt and ill-will, it seems. I am not sure why, nor am I sure why our wanting the KJV is harmful to you. The poetic way in which the scriptures are written help them to be remembered. Words do matter and all translations are not the same. John 1:1 tells us that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Words matter to God. Jesus Christ is the Word according to John 1:14. While there is lots of talk about translations, they are different words and different meanings.
Here is only one example: Col 2:18 “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,” is the KJV. Notice things that these things are NOT seen.
NASV says “Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on {visions} he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind”
ASV says, “Let no man rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he hath seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind”

We could go on and on but just this verse alone mentions a point that is necessary in understanding that these versions are not the same.

Let’s be loving to one another and serve one another. If Robin doesn’t have the time or desire to create KJV, that is certainly okay. We are talking about teaching our children the Word of God, can we not be kind to one another? No wonder those outside the Body of Christ don’t want in. Believing the KJV is the Word of God is not a stumbling block or an idol. I will gladly stand before Him, having my sins covered with the blood of Christ and knowing I do not deserve His forgiveness, and say that I believe the KJV is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people today.

Before you lash out, know that RIGHT now, I am praying for you and your family. I don’t hate you and am not upset with you. It seems this argument has come on from somewhere else and I am sorry if you have been hurt by that in the past. Please don’t “come at” other believers who disagree with you and whom you do not know.

  7. Vanessa

Tricia.. Prayers for you. That response is definitely uncalled for.

  8. The original KJV is called original for a reason. All (other) bibles versions are or have been translated from the original. And all translation (are not) equal. And there is a specific reason (you) don’t use the original KJV. There is no reason for you to call people stupid or label them with any other name, besides the one God, (the God of Abraham) gave them; you know, the ones HE created in HIS image. Besides, God said that everything we have, even that little bit of knowledge we have, HE gave it to us, and you are no exception. HE even allows people to disagree with HIM; so who are you?

  9. The KJV is not the original. Life did not begin in 1611. There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today. English is only one. God did not write in 1611 Old English. Thats so arrogant to think the world revolves around America. The false teaching from the KJVonlyism are insane– they make no sense.
